My MacBook Pro can't start up

My MacBook Pro screen went fuzzy suddenly. I shut it down. I have difficulty starting it up again. Apple logo appeared brief lion a white screen and then screen went blank white. No further activity. Advice please.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Try starting inRecovery Modeand at the first screen choose from Utilities menu > Disk Utility > Repair Disk until it reports OK or cannot repair.
