Logic Pro X will not open projects post 10.2 update

I just downloaded the 10.2 update and now every time I try to open a project, the loading bar comes up and just sits there. No progress is made whatsoever. I'm running on Yosemite 10.10.4. I've never run into this problem before and now I'm stuck not being able to open any projects. Any help would be appreciated.

As I've investigated this problem more, I've found that some older versions of some of my projects will open, but not most of them, which leads me to believe that the projects are corrupt. I tried opening the same projects on Logic Pro X version 10.1 and they still wouldn't open. I tried opening Logic without Core audio by holding control, and that allows me to open up the projects. From there, I've attempted to import the project into an empty one, but along the way, Logic consistently crashes/fails when adding the same audio files, a lead guitar track. Is there any other things I should consider trying? I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice already and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I wouldn't know how my projects have been corrupted either. I haven't worked on them since August maybe, but there's no reason for them to be corrupt.

Also, I was just working on installing Pro Tools 12, so I now have iLok License Manager and Pro Tools installed, but that shouldn't interfere with Logic Pro X opening projects.

Upon further experimentation, I believe I've pinpointed the problem. Every project that has an iteration of Guitar Rig 5 in it won't open. I've been able to import an entire project and as long as I avoid importing Guitar Rig 5, it seems to work. I'll need to see if any other NI plugins illicit a crash, but in the meantime, does anyone have any fixes for plugins such as this? Will a reinstall solve this? If so, how do you reinstall it?

Just to clarify a few things....

1) The latest update to GR5 is the v5.2.0 one..... This was released prior to the LPX 10.2 update

2) The updates i believe Pancenter is thinking about are the ones that related to OS X 10.11 compatibility and in fact this was resolved when OS X itself was update to 10.11.1 An update to NI's plugins was not needed. However hardware driver updates for NI gear are required.... and should be installed if you have any NI hardware used in your setup.

3) Running GR5.2.0, LPX 10.2 and OS X 10.10.5 here without issue..... (Note: OS X 10.10.5 update has some important fixes....so you might want to consider updating from 10.10.4)

Happy New Year to one and all....

It's stuck scanning the audio units. It's only scanning for Guitar Rig, but there's no progress on the bar at all. It just sits there.

Also, even though GR isn't successfully validated now, even with the MIDI controlled GR effect in use, it still causes Logic to crash with any attempt to open a project using GR. If I disable it from the plug-in manager, all is well.

EDIT TO PREVIOUS POST:

It's stuck scanning the audio units. It's only scanning for Guitar Rig, but there's no progress on the bar at all. It just sits there. Prior to the OSX update, scanning GR in the plug-in manager would cause a crash. However, now it's simply stuck scanning, so I suppose that's an improvement. By the way, I don't have any NI hardware in my setup, only software from Komplete 8.

Also, even though GR isn't successfully validated now, even with the MIDI controlled GR effect in use, it still causes Logic to crash with any attempt to open a project using GR. If I disable it from the plug-in manager, all is well. But then obviously I can't use GR in any project whatsoever, and frankly, I use GR quite a bit so I'm gonna be super bummed if I can't get this issue resolved.

Thanks for your help though. It's much appreciated.

Further edit:
Scanning GR causes Logic to not respond again. Back to square one, it seems.

Well, as I said earlier there is no known issue using GR5.2.0 under OS X 10.10.5 and LPX 10.2 I have that exact combo running on three of my various rigs here so I suspect its an issue specific to your setup....

Therefore,

1) Check and repair system disk in Disk Utility

2) Check and repair permissions...

and failing those two..

Uninstall and reinstall GR5......

Fingers crossed...

Btw.. when you manually scan GR5 in Logic's Plugin Manager.. what does the pop up window show as the cause of the issue.. You should see some dialog relating to the issue.... as it attempts to validate.

I can attach the entire text in this message.

It looks like it's trying to say Native Instruments, but I wonder why it stops there. I'm looking into repairing the disk right now. I'm glad to hear that it's working on your rigs though. Hopefully the answer lies in one of these options.

I verified the system disk. All good there. I verified and repaired permissions and the only anomaly there was during verification, this message came up:
WARNING: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

Aside from that, everything else was repaired. I tried to rescan GR and the same problem as before occurs. I bought GR as part of Komplete 8 in physical form, so is there any way to just reinstall GR without have to go through the entire Komplete 8 reinstallation? It's 9 discs or so.

This isn't how you or I would like to spend New Year's Day, huh?

No.. but5 then I've been away from here for a couple of months working in the studio, so it's good to dig around a bit and refresh my memory! 🙂

Anyhow, It looks like one of your plists got corrupted...

Im not sure which one but its probably one related to the plugins list..... (it could be one inside the plugins themselves..) and thats what it likely stopping GR5 from then validating.... as it cannot find the prior reference to GR5 and gets stuck when trying to do so....

Someone like Edgar or CCT might know which it is....

Hopefully they will read this and had their 5 cents in..... 🙂

Cheers..
