Q: iOS Bluetooth SPP support

Hi all,

According to this page, iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles - Apple Support

it seems that those iOS does not support SPP (serial port profile).

Am I right?

because I found some articles stating that iOS supports SPP.

I just want to know it clearly.

iOS DOES NOT SUPPORT BLUETOOTH SPP

is it correct or not?

I am not aware of SPP support. The support document that you linked provides information on the latest Bluetooth profiles that the iOS supports. Are these articles that you found published by Apple?

this is an official page provided by apple : iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles - Apple Support

and other articles i found are not official, just some page on blogs or something else.

I just want to know whether ios supports SPP or not.

the official page does not include SPP, so, I guess iOS does not support it.

I just want to be sure about this.

The best I can provide you is the Apple Support document. If the official document does not indicate the support, I would say that it doesn't.

You're welcome. Happy New Year to you as well. A quick search before my last response only provided links showing that it was not supported by iOS, and even the support in Android was spotty.
