Airdrop not working for the same owner!

Hi,

I have 2 iPhones 6s and 6s Plus (both 9.2)

I own both of them and use them together. sometimes I want to send picture from a device to another. the result I cannot find my other device!

I tried with another iphone 6 (has a different Apple ID) and my iphone discovered it via Airdrop and have sent successfully to it.

The problem is when I want to use it through two iphones with 1 apple id and 1 app store id and 1 icloud id! I guess thats my phones problem!

Hi 3.9.3,

I understand that you ultimately wish to be able to easily share photos from one iOS device to another, and both of them are on the same Apple ID. I would suggest that you use iCloud Photo Library for this, as it will automatically allow you to have access to the same photos library on both devices:

HI,

I do use iCloud and I got 200GB subscription. But it is uselss without cellular connection when I'm camping.

Is there a problem with me or Apple did this on purpose? To prevent me from changing pictures and videos offline?

There are a couple of considerations to pay attention to in the following article that may be affecting your situation:

Tips for sending items

If you don't see the recipient in the AirDrop window or sheet:

Make sure that both devices have AirDrop turned on and are within 30 feet (9 meters) of each other.

If you're sending to an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

Your Mac needs to be a 2012 or newer model with OS X Yosemite or later.

The iOS device must have Personal Hotspot turned off in Settings > Cellular.

If you're sending to a Mac:

If the receiving Mac is using OS X Mavericks, Mountain Lion, or Lion, it needs to have an AirDrop window open: choose Go > AirDrop from the menu bar in the Finder.

If the receiving Mac is a 2012 or older model, click “Don't see who you're looking for?” in the AirDrop window or sharing sheet of the sending Mac. Then click “Search for an Older Mac.”

Find out if the Mac has “Block all incoming connections” turned on in Security & Privacy preferences. A Mac won't receive items using AirDrop if this setting is turned on.

If AirDrop on the receiving device is set up to receive items from contacts only, make sure that both devices are signed in to iCloud. Also make sure that the email address or phone number associated with your Apple ID is in the Contacts app of the receiving device.

Additionally, does this behavior happen when both of your phones are connected to the internet? Or does it only happen when neither device has an internet connection? Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!
