Q: Keyboard keys and their related icons or images

Is there a reference for new MacBook Pro users so that we will know what icon image relates to the keyboard key? For example, ^ = the control key? I'm looking for a reference so that I know which Mac keys refer to which images/icons.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Mac keyboard shortcuts - Apple Support

The tab key to the left of the Q on QWERTY keyboards has a right-facing arrow that ends at a vertical bar, but it is not used in any key combinations I can recall.
