Q: Apps won't download at all

I Just bought a Apple TV. I'm trying to download apps and none will download. I'm connected to the internet and everything is good there. I click install and it spins for awhile and then the install button comes back and it's not downloaded. I try to restore previous purchases and I get the same thing, press install, it spins for a bit, then the install button comes back. Same thing with new apps, I press get, it spins and then the get button comes back. Nothing is downloading. How do I fix it?

    Hi clgmac77,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you are unable to download anything from the App Store on your Apple TV (4th generation) even though your Wi-Fi appears to be working as expected. To troubleshoot this situation there are a couple of different steps I would suggest.

First, try restarting your Apple TV and then test the App Store again. Information on how to restart the Apple TV can be found in the following article.

How to restart your Apple TV - Apple Support

If the issue continues after you restart your Apple TV, my next suggestion would be to restore your Apple TV and set it up fresh.

Restore your Apple TV to the factory settings - Apple Support

Please let us know if the issue continues after restoring your Apple TV.

    Best!

    Hi!

I`ve got a problem with my new apple tv4. It won`t DL certain apps, and I`m missing about half of my videos. The videos that don`t play. dosen`t display in "bought videos" either (other than with a empty slot). When I try to play it, I get the message (Translated from norwegian)  "product not available"- and "content is at the moment not available in Norway". But all content is available at all other I-devices we got.

When I try to DL apps like Rayman Adventures, the Apple tv just spinns, wihout any progress. Apps like HBO and Netflix DL`s at once and works jus fine.

I have restarted the device and I did a factory reset, but nothing changed. The apple tv worked fine until yesterday,

Did you ever find a solution? I've restarted and reset, can reinstall everything but Netflix and plex.

I am having the same problem right now.  Just bought ATV4 and cannot download ANYTHING from the App Store.  Restored device? check.  Restart? check.  Signed into several iTunes accounts? check.  C'mon!

Must be a service issue. I can't download these apps on my iPhone either.

I can get YouTube, not Netflix or Hulu.  My bad.  Still not good.

Same here! many others will download but not netflix or plex.

The unfortunate part is that I believe it must have failed during an auto update. I had all this installed and working, but they wouldn't load anymore so I tried the reset.

I was using Plex earlier without issues and then it just wouldn't let me open it again. I checked the app store and it showed the app had an update that came out today (July 13th). I tried clicking update but it just kept spinning. I tried deleting Plex and re-installing and now it will not re-downlaod. I think it tried to auto update and messed up originally. My brothers Apple TV can't open Plex either. I also tried downloading Netflix and it also won't download. Other apps I've tried (YouTube and Canabalt) downloaded without problems. Must be something with Apple's servers.
