Unknown apple ID keeps popping up!

I've been trying to back up my new iPhone (have never had problems in the past). Once I transferred all of my data to the new phone, I have not been able to back up my phone onto iCloud. It keeps prompting me to put in the password for *********, which I can tell you is not me. For fear that it was some kind of virus/scam, I never put in my password into it.

I've tried a couple things suggested by the forums, including signing out of the apple store and signing back in. On the surface, iCloud/Apple Store information is with my real apple account. However, whenever I try to turn on the Back-up function, it always prompts me to put in the password for that strange plusrader.net email.

How can I fix this?

I am the first owner of the phone - the phone was a gift and came shrink-wrapped, and everything was new. All the plastic covers were on the phone and charger, etc. The weird thing is that I talked to Apple Support and looked up the iCloud account... and no such account existed... I am in the process of contacting the seller (whom I found out was a third-party Amazon seller)... in order to find out more. But if the seller doesn't contact me or anything, I wonder if there is anything I can do? I do have a "proof of purchase" from Amazon -- and I don't know if Apple could force that strange account off my phone.
