Q: Proper iTunes & iCloud Family Sharing Set-Up?

K...Still a little confused.  The wife and I both have 6s devices, a family iPad, iPod Touch, and son just got a 6s from Santa.  In the old days, everyone logged into their iCloud accounts but, used my Apple ID for iTunes purchases on each device.  Then came along Family sharing and I left it all that way. Now I'm not quite sure if I have it set up properly since the change.

Currently, I created the Family Sharing so I'm the organizer and I'm signed in to both my iCloud and iTunes with "ME"@icloud.com.

I have every other device signed in with independent iCloud Apple IDs..."WIFE"@iCloud.com, "IPAD"@icloud.com, etc...  However, I have all these devices signed in under my iTunes account as well (like the old days) so no one will independently pay for duplicate stuff.  This seems to be creating a problem in that when my son asks to purchase something, it shows that it's coming from me... Not his name but mine.  Assuming because he's actually signed in under my iTunes account.

OK. I changed his to use his independent Apple ID to sign into both iCloud and iTunes and seem to have fixed that.  Requests are sent to me and the wife showing his name.  However, when changing my wife's iTunes login to her Apple ID (same as her iCloud), it's asking to enter her credit card.  This seems like she's no longer going to share purchases with my account.  Is this OK?  How the heck should this be set up?  Everyone using their own Apple ID for both iCloud and iTunes?  Then just set up Family Sharing?  Sorry.  Apple has never been good with explaining things that should be very simple.

Hope that made sense...

I am not confused, want another son?

    Seriously thou

She may be asked credit card for two reasons -

    1. You are just creating her account - ok put it is and if it bothers you too much take it out.

    2. In your infinite wisdom while creating family sharing you made her an organizer.

Since I am not there with you I can't tell which, but try to work from those two and see if you can untie that.

-I'm not creating her account.  Simply signing into her iTunes account and it's asking for a credit card.  However, we will never use this card if Family Sharing is working properly.  I just want to make sure that it doesn't charge her card for anything.   Everything should be charged to mine since I'm the organizer.

-She's not an organizer.  She's listed as a parent/guardian...unless that's the same.  She receives the "ask for permission" message as well as me.  Just don't know if everyone should all be signed in under their individual iCloud and iTunes accounts and if the Family Share bypasses all that for purchases...

Ok, so new info also rings a bell, despite ability to use organizers credit card, adult members can have their own payment methods on file. As far as I remember they even will get charged first, so if you want to pay yourself, you may try to skip the credit card option or if her card expired, just pick none for her account. Just in case I will place some articles here if I am off base again.
