Q: Setting up exchange mail account

Hello

I was supplied with login credentials by my company to access my email via an exchange account for iOS devices. It was simple and works flawlessly. I have been unable to set this up on either my Macbook or iMac, a cursory look will reveal that the setup dialog for exchange accounts between the two systems is totally different and I am certain I read somewhere that its not that strait-forward to achieve I believe that even some third party software is required.

Does this chime a chord with anyone.

Thanks a lot

    Hello Ravilious,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

In order to set up an Exchange account on your Mac, you will need the server and login information from your IT staff.  The information required is outlined below:

Mail settings you might need from your email provider

After that, you may then set up your account with that information by following these directions:

    Add an account

The first time you open Mail, it may prompt you to add an email account (if you haven’t yet done so). Select an account type, then enter your account information.

To add another account, choose Mail > Add Account, select an account type, then enter your account information. Make sure the Mail checkbox is selected for the account.

If you already use an account on your Mac with other apps, such as Notes or Messages, you can also use the account with Mail. Choose Mail > Accounts to open Internet Accounts preferences, select the account on the left, then select the Mail checkbox on the right.

Mail (El Capitan): Set up Mail with your email accounts

    Take care.
