Q: Charging indication while Iphone 6 is off

Hello,

 

I've recently purchased an IPhone 6, I'm not able to get a charging indication (Battery) that the battery is charging " while the unit is off". I recall seeing a Battery with Green bar indicators on the IPhone 4. IOS 9.2.

 

Maybe someone could clarify if the unit has to be powered on to charge to show the status?.  I've tried pushing the Home Button etc, without powering the IPhone 6 on.

    You would need to have your iPhone on to get a charging indication.

    This article indicates that some devices sold in China show the battery indicator while charging off. Maybe you had one of those phones. -AJ

    Thanks for your input, oddly enough still no charging indicator like the one displayed below is being showed when the unit is powered off.  Thanks -AJ for responding.

    I have a phone from the U.S. and if I turn the phone off on the charger it will remain black. Not all phones will show that indicator.

    No iPhone model has ever displayed a charging indicator if turned off after being plugged in. if you saw that on an iPhone in the past it was either a counterfeit phone or a hacked or jalilbroken phone.

     

    All iPhones and iPads will charge if turned off after they are plugged in. Note that if you turn the device off before plugging it in, the very act of plugging it in to an external power source will automatically turn it On.

     

    i Don't know about the specific models sold in China as I do not live in China nor are those models sold anywhere but China.

    Hi AJ,

     

    Powered on the IPhone 6, its confirmed the battery is charging which was my initial worry that it wasn't.  Thanks AJ for the confirmation. All is well,  Guess it also goes along with the ideology of the LED pin head indicator.
