I have downloaded all the drivers, i went to cannon website and updates but it still will not work - shows offline. How do I fix this to print?

Delete the printer from your list of printers. Reconnect the printer to your network if that is how it is connected. Re-add your printer to your list of printers on your computer.
it is WIFI - the printer is on the same network as the macbook - the printer works fine on the windows computers but not on my macbook or my husbands. I looked at cannons website and my printer is compatable with the OS, and it is showing on the mac as offline

I have the same problem almost every day;
You just have to connect the printer via USB to your MacBook, if it's possible.
Then the light will turn from red to green and you'll be all right.

1. Please restart the printer and the wireless router. Test.

When adding the Canon printer to the list of your printers on your system preferences be sure to select the option with ..."CANON IJ NETWORK"
If I were you, I'd definitely delete it and then do all over again.
Disconnect all cables and install new drives and turn off your Wi-fi and turn on.
