External monitor blurry using Macbook Pro 15"

Hey guys,

I recently purchased an Asus MX25AQ and a Macbook Pro 15" 2015. Resolution is 2650x1440, which is showing up on the monitor as selected, but the image doesn't look very crisp. Both macbook and the monitor show display profile as "RGB generic profile" and the external monitor says I'm getting 2650x1440.. It's actually a bit blurry though. The text is faint image boarders are kinda blurry. Letters look small and choppy, I'm guessing because of the set resolution and screen size. Is there a way to make the navigation bar and everything bigger other than adjusting the resolution? I didn't expect for it to be just plug and play, but I did expect better images. Just need the right configurations. So Since the settings say everything is good, I'm not sure what to attempt. Read that others with dissatisfied with their external monitor qualities as well.

Currently using a HDMI input. About to order a display port to thunderbolt cable.

Any he
