Q: The redownloaded song is still Protected and 128kbps??

I followed the instructions, removed the songs from the library - went to the purchased album. Clicked the cloud - redownloaded the songs with the same crappy DRM protection as the first time.

 

What am I doing wrong.  Album is ZZ Top Greatest Hits.

    Hi,

    Not every previously purchased track can be upgraded. The usual reason is that the album is no longer available or a different version is now available in the iTunes Store. Often the original version is replaced by a remastered version.

     

    If you burn the album to CD then reimport them you may find that you will get a match and therefore be able to upgrade to 256 Kbps.
