Q: Amazon prime TV

Why is there no Amazon Prime app for the Apple TV?

There are apps for the iPhone and iPad. I know I can use airplay to stream he content from either of these devices, through my Apple TV, and watch it but why should I have to when an Apple TV native app resolves the problem?

When will there be an Apple Prime TV app for Apple TV, just like the ones available for Netflix, Hulu, etc, etc, etc?

i truly would like to have an actual answer. Thank you.

You'd need to ask Amazon that, it would be up to them to develop one.

When will there be an Apple Prime TV app for Apple TV

Only Amazon will know if or when there will be one.

i truly would like to have an actual answer. Thank you.

I'm sorry I don't think you'll get one. You could contact Amazon directly but I'd be surprised if they tell you anything concrete.

    For what it's worth.

Internet comments, of 2-3 wks ago, suggest that engineering, at Amazon, are preparing an app, for Apple TV, and that it should be available in a few weeks.

You can see the posts by putting Apple TV and Amazon Prime video in search and skip past the airplay comments.

The reason is because Amazon is trying to sell its own set-top box and has decided that it is going to hold consumers hostage. Amazon and Jeff Bezos suck. Steer clear of those *** hats.

I contacted Amazon about this. This is their canned response:

    Message From Customer Service
    Hello Paul,

I understand you would like to watch videos through Apple TV.

Unfortunately, at this time Amazon Video isn't currently available on Apple TV. I apologize for the disappointment this may cause.

Amazon Instant Video development team is regularly in touch with the manufacturers to make more devices (OR Models) compatible with Amazon Instant Videos. Devices not compatible now, may become compatible in future.

You may have noticed that XBox, Wii, Wii U, iPad & iPhone became compatible recently, with more to come. With that kind of proliferation there's a significant increase in pressure to get more devices/models added. If there is any update it will be directly posted on our website.

We've received many requests from the customers asking us to make Instant Video compatible with Apple TV and our development team is working in this regard.

    * However, as this involves may teams and individuals, I'm unable to predict how long it will take to get but we hope to make Amazon Instant Video available on Apple TV in the near future.

    * Please be assured that we are here to take care of any issue you've encountered and ensure we resolve your concern to the fullest of your satisfaction.

-- It is always important for us to hear how customers react to all aspects. I appreciate that you wrote about this so that I can point out increased demand for making this feature available on Apple TV. Your valuable feedback will help us to improve the selection and service we provide and we're glad you took time to write to us. We do value the feedback of our customers and make every attempt to integrate their comments or suggestions into our stores and procedures.

--> After checking the above information if you still need any additional assistance, Amazon Instant Video specialists can also be reached via phone, chat or email  24 hours a day, seven days a week using the following link:

We appreciate your patience in this matter and thanks for the time you took to write to us.

We look forward to hearing from you again.

We'd appreciate your feedback. Please use the links below to tell us about your experience today.

    Best regards,
    Uzma A

I received this within minutes of my written request. That they have a prepared canned response to this question indicates there has already been quite a bit of contact on this issue.

i would strongly suggest that those interested in an app for Apple TV keep the pressure up.

I can't seem to get Airplay to work with downloaded amazon Prime videos.  The gear just keeps spinning.  I am using an iPad Pro and the newest apple tv with updated software. Any suggestions.

    as amazon writes

I understand you would like to watch videos through Apple TV.

Unfortunately, at this time Amazon Video isn't currently available on Apple TV.

when an app wish to block airplay mirror apple respect the app developers wishes and there is no way around that

apart from the app developer changing their mind
