Released 500 GB of hard disk without increase in capacity availability

I released 500 GB of hard disk moving the contents of this 500 GB to a external disk. The available capacity in the disk, as informed by finder has only increased in 100 GB. Is any way to recalculate the availability properly or reset the figures o available disk space??

Hi CADARSO,
I understand that your recently moved content to an external drive but you are not showing that much of a change on your Mac. Let's see if we can fix that for you.
I would start with taking a look at the article below. it will walk you through verify and repairing the startup volume on your Mac. I know it talks about startup issues but because this deals with your hard drive that runs you mac, these exact steps will at least verify and repair if it finds anything.
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck

Let me know if this helps.
Have a good day
