I have a 13 inch macbook pro late 2011 model. I was using it a couple of hours ago, letting it hit around 30% before I plug it back in. When I plug it in though, the charge indicator light became orange for a while and it was charging. After a few minutes, it showed green and my laptop was actually discharging. It finally hit 1% then shut down. First I did was to try and reset the SMC, however, I don't think it worked. The light indicator didn't change from green to yellow. It didn't matter how long I pressed the left hand shift, option, control, and power buttons for, the charging light indicator didn't change.
I tried something a little bolder, I opened my laptop up and disconnected and reconnected the battery connection in the hopes of "resetting" the SMC but to no avail. When I plugged the charger back in, it still was a green light and it wasn't charging.
Now I am not quite sure how to proceed since I can't open my laptop (it is very very slow to boot and can only be alive for a couple of minutes then it dies).
Has anyone encountered this before or would know how to fix this issue?
