Q: How to transfer entire computer from macbookAir to macbookPro? 1st timer

I need to transfer my entire computer (via thunderbolt) from macbookAir-osx mavericks/parallels9/windows7 to macbook pro w/osx ElCapitan.  The Air is almost full with only 3.2GB avail on 256gbSSD (the Pro has 512gbSSD) so I don't think there is sufficient space on the Air to updates prior to transfering.  Can I transfer w/Migration Assistant then upgrade the new laptop to parallels V11? 1st timer/rookie - so appreciate any guidance the community can offer.  Thanks.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

You can use Migration Assistant to accomplish the transfer, and since the Windows 7 Virtual Machine is basically a big file, it will get transferred too, along with Parallels. When you upgrade to Parallels 11, you'll need to update Parallels Tools in the VM but otherwise, Win 7 should work. Note that Windows may notice the hardware change as will Parallels, and you may be asked if you copied or moved the VM file (I don't use Parallels, preferring VMware Fusion) but that question is asked to avoid possible network confusion if both copies were running at once. Answer that you moved it.

Thank you FatMac>MacPro.  I'll give all a try in a couple days when i have some dedicated time to run through the transfer.  Much appreciated.
