Q: Why does find my iphone only show last location for 24 hours

I logged in a few hours too late and now can't find my phone. I don't understand why it doesn't just keep the last location. That information has to be somewhere, is there any way I can find it?

    It will only keep the location fro 24hours:"Your device's last known location is available for one day. If your device is offline or can't connect to Find My iPhone for more than 24 hours, you won't be able to see the last known location."

    Unfortunately, until the phone is back online you can't track it. -AJ

    You can still send the LOST MODE or ERASE commands. Even if the device is off right now, it will receive those commands when powered on and online and lock or erase the phone. Keeping the phone off or offline does the "holder of your phone" no good, so they will have to do that at some point.
