iPhone is disabled for 24 million minutes, won't let me restore

My iPhone screen was broken, so i got it fixed and collected it with the message iPhone is disabled, try again in 24,177,570 minutes. I assume this was the result of my screen jumping around when broke and entering the wrong password lots of times. I've tried to restore my iPhone on two different computers using different leads and also on iCloud but even with my phone right next to my wifi box at home which it should automatically connect to device is appearing as offline. HELP?!

OK.... has this phone been jailbroken? That seems to trigger this error message.

Here are some suggested fixes. They all talk about the same issue ... it's a network thing. It seems that jailbroken phones don't connect to Apple's update servers properly at times.
