What version of iOS are you using on the p[hone? What version # of iTunes are you trying to reset with?

iOS 8 something i don't know exactly but it's definitely 8 not 9 and the newest version of iTunes I've even uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes .

What version *number*? 11.x? 12.x?
On a Mac, go to ITUNES > about iTunes, on Windows go to Help > About iTunes

Here are some suggested fixes. They all talk about the same issue ... it's a network thing. It seems that jailbroken phones don't connect to Apple's update servers properly at times.
