To activate iCloud Drive in the Finder's sidebar simply activate the Finder and select Preferences from the Finder menu. Click on the Sidebar icon in the toolbar then click in the check box to display iCloud Drive.

DesktopsYour cloud drive can be mounted like any other drive, and appear on your desktop if you have finder settings for that or in the Finder sidebar.
You can freely drag and drop files from and to it, but it is slow compared to your local drives, so it will not complete the transfers immediately.
