The step-by-step is simple, as they don't exist. That is because you cannot use your Time Capsule as a media server as it doesn't provide this type of service. At best, you could use your TC for media storage. You would then still need a media server to access these files for streaming. That media server could be iTunes, Plex, or InFuse for example.

1. Store all my media files in ATC

You can do it.. create a directory and drop the files on it.

2. Use it as a storage media for all my files

Same really.. create a directory and drop your files on it. There is no instructions because none are needed it is standard network storage.

BUT not all files should be copied to the TC.. be very careful with live files and especially libraries.. Apple has stated that iphoto or photos library should not be used from local network.

Also particularly note you are going to make it hard to backup.. TC is not designed for this.. it is a target for time machine and ironically Time Machine cannot backup any network sources.. So if you move your files and don't backup you will definitely lose them as all hard disks fail.. And the TC hardware itself is far from infallible.

You will need to short out..

1. A third party backup software.. and 2. Somewhere to backup to.

3. Use a media server software to access this and play it on my TV using my apple TV.

Media server software.. is irrelevant.. you need a player.. not software.. you cannot load software on a TC.. you need a player that can source its files on network resources. eg iTunes on a Mac or PC can have the library on the TC and play it to Apple TV..

However if you are using wireless. remember you just doubled the load.. and it is going to make it hard work to not get skipping etc.

Use the Go command "connect to server" in the window type afp://then the ip address of the TC. It will mount to your Desktop. From there treat it as a normal hard drive. Create your folders and copy over your files. You can launch iTunes and add those files to your library but I suggest if you already have iTunes set up then create a second library by launching iTunes using the option key. Once you have all set up overtime you launch iTunes you should mount the TC to the Desktop first or iTunes will lose its place wit the files..

piece of rice cake...
