Itunes Helper not running

When I plug in my iPhone, it now says the amount of space used is 'Other'. Sync button is not active. If I try to backup it does it in a split second and no file is created.

I ran iTunes diagnostics and it says Apple Helper not running.

I reinstalled iTunes 64-bit

System is PC running Windows 10 with all the current updates. Last backup was done December 19, 2015. I tried to backup yesterday and could not. Rebooting computer, changing Trust on iPhone and re-trusting computer does not help.
