Acrobat reader automatically opens when I download a pdf. How can I change this?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
Assuming you're using Safari, in General Preferences, do you have "Open "safe" files after downloading" checked? If so, uncheck it.
I contacted apple about this issue as it happens with all files that are downloaded. They couldn't resolve my issue and said it was something to do with my VLC preferences and that I should contact their support.
However today I have discovered it is this little box that needs to be unchecked in the safari general preferences. So glad I discovered this.
