how do i reset my mail authentication password?

i cannot send e mails with mac e mail app. i get error message "cannot send message using server smtp.comcast.net" the error message also shows that account as offline. When i enter my password for my comcast account i get message that cannot verify password. I have tried all passwords that i can remember and none verify. So how do i reset the authentication password?
