Q: iphone 6s texting delays

My wife has a 6s and I have a 6. Sometimes texts to her phone come 2 hours or even 2 days later than when I receive them. She will power cycle her phone and 25 or so texts come through.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.2

Are these SMS messages (green) or iMessages (Blue). SMS messages are a carrier feature. She should contact her carrier if she's having trouble with them. If the problem is with iMessages, is she using WiFi or cellular data when this happens?

    Hi,

I understand your wife has an iPhone 6s, and that she isn't getting texts to her phone until two hours later, or even two days layer than when you do. I can understand that this can be an inconvenient problem.

If this is the case, here are some steps you can try following on your wife's iPhone:

    • Make sure the device is connected to a Wifi or cellular network
    • Check for updates from your carrier
    • Check for iOS Updates
    • Make sure your time zone is set correctly
    • Turn off iMessage, and FaceTime to restart them
      • Go to Settings > Messages and then turn off iMessage
      • Go to Settings > FaceTime and then turn off FaceTime
      • Then restart your device
        • Press and hold on the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears
        • Drag the red slider completely to turn off your iPhone
        • Once the iPhone is off, press and hold on the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears
      • Then, repeat the previous steps to turn iMessage, and FaceTime back on.
        • *Please note, it might take up to 24 hours for iMessage and FaceTime to activate again. If you're not able to activate it after 24 hours, make sure your iOS device is up to date and that you can receive SMS messages from your carrier. If not, contact Apple.

If you wife isn't getting messages in a group conversation:

    • Delete the conversation
      • Open the Messages app > On the group conversation swipe left > Tap Delete
        • *Please note, by deleting a conversation you'll lose messages, or attachments. You can take screenshots of the conversation, or save attachments by pressing and holding down on them and selecting "Save"
    • Make sure the iOS device is up to date

Try resetting your wife's iPhone network settings:

Open Settings > Go to General > Tap Reset > Tap Reset Network Settings

If nothing else has worked, try contacting Apple or your wife's carrier.

I hope this helps, and if nothing else works please don't hesitate for any more assistance
