Q: Lightening to HDMI iphone adapter iTunes sync problem

I have the lightening to HDMI adapter for my iPhone. The HDMI port works but when I simultaneously connect my phone via usb to the computer using the Lightning port next to the HDMI port of the adapter, the my iPhone charges but is not showing up in iTunes. I am guessing others have experienced this and I'm curious if there is a solution out there or if this is a known glitch that Apple has not fixed yet?  Do I may be simply have a bad adapter?  Still running Mac OS 10 .7 .5. Thanks!

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4), iTune 10.6.3

Sorry, the meaning of this is unclear. How can you possibly simultaneously connect it to anything? There is no "Lightning port" on a Mac. There is a "Thunderbolt" port, but no lightning port. There is a lightning port on the phone. What, exactly, do you have, and what are you plugging into what? Perhaps "simultaneously" was not the word you intended to use either...

Thanks for your reply.  I'm not sure if you can see it from however you accessed the question that I asked but my post is specifically regarding using the HT202044 Lightening to HDMI iphone adapter.  That adapter has a lightening port in addition to the hdmi port so when it is connected to your phone you can still continue using a lightening connected device simultaneously while using the hdmi port. In most cases and as in my case I am simply using my standard lightning to USB cable to connect my phone to my MacBook while also outputting the video from my phone to my HDMI monitor. This is where I am having a problem. My phone is not showing up as it normally does in iTunes when I am connecting it through this adapter. Hope this gives a clear picture of things. I think it's time to simply call up Apple and ask them about it.

Sorry. Who makes this thing? I'm unable to find anything matching HT202044 or an adapter that matches your description on Apple's web site at all.

    Greetings,

Ok, a little bit of clarity. First off, I am just realizing that the correct spelling for this adapter is "Lightning". Wish I could edit the original post as I am feeling some folks are not going to see this post now that there is a mis-spell in that important word associated with this.

Secondly, it seems the the super high tech Apple Support system has created some confusion. This support question was created out of a search I did on the Apple Support site. So, it automatically generated the HT202044 # from I have no idea where. The actual product / adapter in question here is linked here: http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD826AM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter  The correct model # is MD826AM/A

And, in doing a bit more searching using the HT202044 #, I am finding that other folks have had this similar issue with this adapter not being very user friendly (as compared to how it is marked as being plug and play easy).

Wondering is anyone else out there is having a similar issue?
