Jan 2, 2016 6:24 PM in response to BillyDickensby Linc Davis,Please hold down the option key and select System Information... from the Apple menu. The System Information window will open. Select
Software ▹ Extensions
from the menu on the left. After a delay of a minute or so, a list of all installed kernel extensions should appear in the upper right pane of the window.
In the extension list, click the heading of the column Obtained from twice to sort it by source, with Apple at the bottom. At or near the top, you may see the third-party extensions. Select one, and information about it, including Location, will appear in the lower right pane of the window. What do you see?

Jan 4, 2016 2:18 PM in response to BillyDickensby BillyDickens,A status report. After running RemoveSymantecMacFiles 3 times the kexts were eventually removed. I've now had more than 24 hours of use without a crash, so all seems fine. Thanks each of you for the help.
