Yahoo Mail and Password

My Yahoo mail won't update to current mail and date. I assume it has something to do with something behind the scenes on my apple/Mac computer. I keep getting a box that pops up and says "Messages can't log in to ........@yahoo.com because your login ID or password is incorrect." Where do I correct it?
