its near about 9 months to purchase iPhone 4s it is in warranty period too. So can I replace it with 5s ?

Apple does not accept trade ins. You can sell the 4 and put the money towards whichever model you wish to purchase.

In my defense, that's not really a trade in at all. That's a recycle for credit program offered by Apple through a contract recycler. You can do the same thing, for store credit, at BestBuy. Or get a better deal through online recyclers like gazelle.com or Amazon. Either way, you are not trading in your device for another device. You're just selling your device for recycle value and getting a store credit voucher or cash (and at a rate that includes some margin of profit for the recycler, so less than one typically would get selling it privately).
No need to defend yourself, it was just that Apple was just advertising it as a trade-in program before Christmas, and the left side link that talked about instant store credit when you bring in the device. Either way, when I checked the gift card link on the right side, it seemed that some of my old devices had pretty good value, except for my first generation iPad Mini, which only valued out at $65.
