Q: Pages on iPad

I want to lock a document in Pages on my iPad so that it can be viewed but not amended - how do I do this?  I tried locking the document on the Mac but can still edit the iPad version.

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

This is a Pages for Mac support community. Pages for IOS questions should ordinarily post in the iWork for IOS Support Community.

File locking is done at the operating system, and not at the Pages application level. On OS X, file locking can be done via a Finder Get Info panel, or in the Terminal via the chflags, or SetFile commands, but it is only meaningful to OS X, or another operating system where file attributes are properly interpreted.

IOS has no Finder, Terminal, or Settings interface to permit file attribute manipulation. Thus, OS X lock settings are ignored on IOS.
