The System Information>Power display indicates no problems and everything does appear to be normal. Reset the SMC and it will not hurt to do it more than once:

If you still get the error, consider having the MBP examined at a different Apple service center. A second opinion may be a good idea. I would not dismiss the idea that there may be a software glitch in the diagnostic program.

Ciao.

I am not that familiar with your MBP model. Download and install Coconut Battery. It shows what the design capacity of the battery should be and then you can made a valid assessment.

In regards to running the diagnostic report, if your MBA is a 2012 model, the diagnostic report may not be valid. If it is newer, PERHAPS the only way the battery in the MBP can be verified to be problematic is by replacing it with a known functioning battery and then running the diagnostic test again. If the error is repeated, then there is some other issue involved, but not the battery,

I'm having the same issue... My early-2015 macbook pro 13-inch is 5.4 months old, it has 115 cycles, on "Battery Health" app it says 5886 "Current max", whilst 6559 as being the "Original max" (all the information including no. of cycles is according to Battery Health). When pressing "alt" button to actual battery it says that battery condition is "Normal", whilst Battery Health classifies it as "Good". Health of battery circles around 89%-90% usually (according to battery health app) ... Question is... why would it state the error PPT004 (all the information about battery not being normal, etc.) when pressing the D button at restart, if all the other information states there is nothing wrong with the battery ? To mention, I am using Windows 7 occasionally (which I bought it, so is legit) a few months ago, and every now and then I'm using the windows software through bootcamp, to watch a movie, and I have used it a few times in November to play FSX.. Also, roughly two-three times a week I am only playing a round or so of Starcraft 2 on OS X (which is maximum an hour each) due to lack of time. Other than that, I am using it for my studies, so is turned on quite a lot during the day (websites, lecture notes, coursework, revision, etc.), but not on anything which may take up more resources, that would require the fan to fly 😀... Do you guys think the conditions I said above are normal for the way I use it ? And more especially, do you think is normal for the battery health to be 89-90%, and the PT004 error to show up.

Thanks a lot 🙂!
