Battery replacement MBP 7,1

Hi folks

I need to replace the battery in mid 2010 MacBook Pro 13 inch.

Is it best to go with genuine Apple?

Or are there recommended after market brands to suit?

If genuine and original is the way to go, where is the best place to purchase? Is there a part number to look out for?

Thanks!

An Apple store is the best place to get the battery replaced. Note that you get a 1 year warranty with the battery.

If for some reason you cannot get an Apple battery, I can only recommend two third party options; Nupower batteries from OWC or Anker batteries. Inexpensive batteries from ebay or on Amazon should be treated as high risk propositions. They may be very inexpensive, but in the long run may cost you more. There are many tales of woe on these forums with battery 'bargains'.

Ciao.

Greetings cheekyage,

The MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid-2010) has a built in battery that should be serviced by Apple or an Apple authorized service provider. See this document - MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010) - Technical Specifications
