0-01-2016 when making a new activity

to-day I wanted to add an activity in iCal for January 8, 2016

while entering the correct time, etc., I noticed that the date was 0-01-2016

after completing the entry, the activity was stored on the correct day.

probably a small error 🙂

is there a plist a could rename or remove ??

Yes, that would be prudent.

Quit Calendar, then paste this text ~/Library into the Finder Menu>Go>Go to Folder...window and select "Go." This will open the Users Library Folder.

Next open the Preferences Folder in that Library Folder and move the com.apple.iCal.plist file to the Desktop.

Log out/in or restart and open Calendar.

I also created a temperary user, logged in with that user and tested iCal.

same thing: "zero" day in each month.

Fred,

Since your problem occurs in multiple user accounts, it appears to me that a reinstallation of OS X is in order. 😟

However, I would first recommend that you try to install/reinstall the OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 Combo Update.

If you decide to go that route, make sure that you have a viable backup.

Fred,

If everything else on your system is normal, I agree that another "clean" install may not be the best choice.

Since this problem appears to be more related to El Capitan than Calendar, you may get some more advice if you post your problem in the OS X El Capitan Forum.

Be sure to include a link to this discussion, and best wishes for finding a solution.
