shared album

All of a sudden when I try to upload an image I've put into a shared album from my iPad (used iPad to take photo) while using my Mac it will only upload the link to the selected image vs the image itself. AAnyone know why this might be and how to correct. Before I've been able to upload the image to this same site and I haven't changed anything. Photo size the same, etc. Thanks in advance for any help.
