Q: macbook can't find external monitor (El Capitan)

i have a macbook pro retina 13" i tried to make multiple displays by connecting a samsung LED via VGA/VGA and VGA/HDMI cable....

it did't connect automatically so i tried the detect display in System Preferences and also SMC & PRAM non of them worked i even tried puling off the monitor and pulling back 30sec later... the only difference was monitor showed me to change resolution to 1366x768 which i did but nothing has changed... plzzz help me :(((((((

Hi,

I have something similar going on. My Apple Cinema display stopped working after El Captain update v.10.11.2 (About the OS X El Capitan v10.11.2 Update - Apple Support) . In the evening it was working fine. It the morning after update, display stopped to show any image (also usb hub stopped working). Curious that it is still detected, but the screen is absolutely black. I suspect it is somehow related to the update.

Could anyone please advise?
