Do I need to upgrade before El Capitan update?

I was wondering if I need to upgrade my RAM and change HDD to SSD prior to updating to El Capitan? I'm using a Macbook Pro Mid 2012 with 4gb RAM 500gb HDD. Will El Capitan update work just fine with the current macbook specs? Is anyone on El Capitan with the exact macbook pro specs I have and how is the update working out for you?

Polling questions ("Is anyone ...") are not permitted in the Apple Support Communities.

Your MacBook Pro is within spec for El Capitan, and El Capitan should run just fine.

Even if polling were allowed, asking such a question could not possibly gain a useful response, since other folks' environments (e.g., the apps they use) are different from yours.

I just wanted to know what other mac users (with same specs as mine) are experiencing upon update on El Capitan, regardless of apps etc for I wasn't looking to solve any problem. I was hoping to see some reviews specifically for the same mac specs I'm using but found none online so I thought of asking here. But thanks for letting me know that "Is anyone..." is not allowed.

Have a great day!
