Q: My Weather Inbox ????

I had something show up on my iPhone 6 that looked like it was a normal app. Alas, it doesn't appear to be. It looked all right until it asked to be installed through settings. Now it shows up as an actual email address and it appears that it is spam email. I tried to delete the inbox, and there is no option to delete it. Any ideas from where this came? The host name is 20160104.imap.email? I have turned it off and deleted turned off the server, but I don't want it on my phone. HELP!

I Don't have a VPN on my IPad so how do I get rid of "The Weather Inbox"?  We have tried to turn it off, delete the pass word, nothing works, it just keeps coming back like the Energizer Bunny.  Help!  I don't know how it got in, it just showed up!!

I Guess I am coming late to this discussion, but am truly grateful to have found a solution waiting for me.  I thought I might be OK with the Weather Inbox, but then I saw that the profile user's name was not me and was using my connections to access the app.  Not to mention that it also had my password and user ID.

    Thank you, Zach!

A friend of mine got this on her iPhone and iPad mini. I was able t remove the Weather Profile but when it created the email address it messed up her Comcast account that was already set up and working on the phone. I've attempted to manually change all the settings in the account with no luck and I've tried creating a fresh new account with no success. It doesn't look like this is a common issue but if anyone has any suggestions besides wiping the device it would be appreciated.

If you have not already done so, I recommend that you contact Comcast directly and see if they can help you straighten things out.  I am a Comcast subscriber, but fortunately I gave the Weather App my iCloud email account.  When I deleted the Weather profile, it also removed all Weather-related content from my iCloud account and I have not received any email since.

I don't suppose that you tried doing a hard reset on the iPhone already?  Just shooting in the dark, but that might just do the trick.  You might also try doing a sync through iTunes as well.

I had this show up on my iPad Mini3. I received an email and thought I was signing up for severe weather alerts. What happened is they set up and email account with their own server, email address, password etc. When I went to settings, there was no way to delete the account as there is for accounts I set up. The emails that showed up in Mail did not seem to be malicious or ****, just irritating. Thank you for this solution. It seems to have removed the account.

I'M not sure how to get this message out to a broad audience but the malicious email showed up again on my iPad this morning. It gives you the impression they will provide you with severe weather alerts. Sounds good, right? Don't do it!!! What happens is they set up a mail account in your settings which loads a new mailbox into your mail account. They then send you spam emails. Please  alert everyone to this email.

THanks for your help on the solution.

Worked great for me too. Wow! That's a very invasive app.

Excellent. Thanks! My wife's phone had this on it. She asked where it was coming from. Said that she lost her weather app and loaded (from her phone) replacement from the app store. I don't know how it happened but your instructions made short work of getting it gone! Is there cause for a concern that the iCloud user/password could be compromised?
