Q: iTunes Match has used up all of my iPhone memory in "other"

I just subscribed to iTunes Match and it used up 8 GB of memory on my phone and now I have no storage capacity left on my phone. I have not downloaded any music yet.

I spoke with Apple support this morning. I explained that, even though I had not downloaded any music, enabling iTunes Match on my phone allowed Match to use up all remaining memory on my phone (about 7 GB). After restoring my phone 3 times, the problem persisted. At the same time, thousands of songs were not uploaded; random songs from various albums and hundreds of entire albums. The customer support person told me that the problem may lie with using both iTunes Match and Apple Music. I found this very confusing. There was no indication that I should stop my Apple Music subscription in order to use iTunes Match. A refund for iTunes Match is being sent and I have cancelled Apple Music. I have been waiting three years for Apple to increase the cloud capacity to 100,000 songs. Extremely disappointed.
