Q: Moved clips have lost render files-cannot reconnect

Hi there,

I am working on FCP7.

I had a sequence with rendered files-I stupidly rearranged the location of the files in the finder (in the same folder, just into sub-folders).

Obviously the media needed reconnecting-this worked fine but it has lost all the render files-when i highlight to reconnect media-the render button is greyed out.

I really need to reconnect this render files, as they took about 12 hours to do in the first place-can anyone help?

Many thanks

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think once you relink the clips FCP treats the previous renders as irrelevant as relinking (as FCP sees it)  has "changed" the clip.

    An alternative might be to:

    Back up all your work

Move the clips back into the paths they were originally before you moved them.

Open an autosave of your project prior to your relinking.
