I have FCP 7 and the Studio Applications, but FCP cannot log and import AVCHD 1080p50, only 1080i50!
So I think, I buy Compressor 4.2 for that, when Compressor can convert AVCHD 1080p50 to PRORES 422HQ.
The Compressor in the FCP Studio 2 cannot import and convert AVCHD Clips.

Be aware that you won't have any roundtrip ability between FCP7 and Compressor 4. Why not just upgrade to FCPX and not worry about the extra time and headache of Compressor?

FCPX is probably the best solution, but can this log & import AVCHD 1080p50 Clips?
Or can FCPX native AVCHD-Editing? (Without Conversion to ProRes!)
I shoot the Clips with a Sony NEX Kamera.

I was in the APPLE-Store and I can say Yes!
FCP X can log&import AVCHD 1080p50 Videoclips and it can native AVCHD Editing without Conversion to ProRes!
