Garage band ipad. Recording changes in effects and eq

So I ve got garage band on the iPad and wanted to know if it s possible to record live changes to the instruments effects or eq. For example when playing a repeated note on the keyboard I want to change the cut of point setting or mess around with the pitch. When I hit record and do these changes only the final setting I select is recorded and I want to record all the variations I make to the sound. Can it be done? If not is there a way to do it, maybe record the output of the iPad to another device? Thanks.
