Who told you to use another application? Is that because you are getting repeated errors with iMovie?

If this is the first time, you can click the Apple logo in top left of screen and choose Force Quit for iMovie. You may need to switch to another Application before you are able to access your cursor.

If this is happening repeatedly, can you describe what you are doing before you have the problem?

I wasn't getting repeated errors. I just was 't able to force quit. The suggested solution command-option-esc worked. Thanks again.
