iOS iCloud data isn't compatible to transfer onto new phone - old phone seems to be at a more advanced iOS than new phone!

I have an iPhone 5c and backed up my iCloud account so I could transfer to my new iPhone 6 but the backup on my 5c are iOS 9.1 and 9.2 and it says that they aren't compatible with the version of iOS 9.0.2 o my new iPhone 6 so I can't transfer the iCloud backup onto my new iPhone 6 because when it says to choose a backup, none are compatible. How do I fix this?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.0.2

Use the "Setup as New iPhone" option and then update the phone to the current iOS version (9.2) (see Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support ) and then use the instructions below (from Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support )

To transfer a backup to a device you've already set up, you need to erase the device: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase any data that's currently on your device. After you've erased it, your device will restart and you'll see the "Hello" screen. Now you can transfer a backup to your device.
