Just upgraded to El Capitan and upgraded Pages to v5.6.1, now every time I try to open the program I get an error saying "pages quit unexpectedly" then a reopen prompt. When I reopen it just does it all again. When I quit and try and open it quits again. I have shut down and restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled pages, and it still does it. HELP!

Press and hod the shift key when starting Pages v5.6.1. If it still crashes, does it pop any informative dialog?
Have you attempted to modify Pages v5.6.1, or removed/deactivated any Fonts via Fontbook or a Font management utility? Is Pages v5.6.1 located on your boot drive in /Applications?
It still crashes when holding down the shift key when opening. There is an error log that pops up. I have removed any extra fonts that I had installed via Font Book...still the same thing happening. As for the boot drive? No idea...I have tried opening it from Application in Finder. Also have it on the dock, either way I am still getting the same result.

In the Fontbook File menu, choose Restore Standard Fonts…, and then power down your Mac. Boot up, and see if Pages will launch normally. If it still misbehaves, back to Fontbook and from the Edit menu, choose Look for Enabled Duplicates… .
OK, restored standard fonts, restarted...same thing. Looked for enabled duplicates and trashed the duplicates. Restarted. Still getting the unexpected quit error. However, now when I hit the shift key and open, it will open pages for 2 seconds and then it crashes.
Boot into Safe Boot Mode.
Does Pages now launch properly?
I tried all of the above - safe boot, relaunching (still didn't work in safe boot mode) and rebooted normally. Pages still does not open. Is it unrepairable at this point? I feel like I have to now download something else to use (Word?).

Nope, still having the same problem...I'm probably just going to ditch Pages and purchase Word. I was always having to convert documents to .docx and losing some formatting along the way, so its probably for the best, unfortunately...
I founded the solution. It might work for you too!
1. Create another user
2. Try opening pages, if it does, it means your user is faulted
3. Move all your files to the new user
4. That's it!!!!!!
