Jan 5, 2016 7:56 AM in response to imodztechby BobbyGro,Update: The phone now has started making very strange, buzzing-type sounds for alarm and ring tones. Not like a distorted buzzing - but a distinct sound like a corrupt WAV file or D/A converter.
Rebooting - again - fixes the issues, continuing my belief there this is software related (at least partially).
FWIW - have an appointment with the Apple store this evening to have diagnostics run.

Jan 8, 2016 1:33 PM in response to BobbyGroby Joseph Garcia,★HelpfulI have also encountered an issue where my iPhone 6 Plus stops responding to swipes and typing. I have reset it several times and sometimes it fixes the problem but most of the time the phone will continue to freeze up. The home button still works but anything to do with the screen seems to be stuttering or non-functioning. It all started for me when I updated to iOS 9.2. I am going to back up my phone and make an appointment with the "Genius" bar. Frustrating!

Jan 8, 2016 1:26 PM in response to BobbyGroby imodztech,Some insight to my situation.
I Have 2 iPhone 6+
FIrst one was dropped so I paid out of pocket to have Apple replace the screen.
SEcond one had a row of dead pixels, Apple swapped the screen for free under warranty.
Both were replaced maybe 2 weeks apart.
After the screens were replaced both started not responding to any type of touch. This was happening multiple times everyday.
Took both back to Apple and both were swapped out free of charge no questions asked.

Jan 8, 2016 1:30 PM in response to imodztechby Joseph Garcia,I seem to have fixed the issue. A friend suggested looking into Location and saw that for some strange reason the Apple Store app had "Always" selected. When I set it to "Never" the problem went away.

Jan 8, 2016 1:41 PM in response to BobbyGroby BobbyGro,Update: I went into the "Genius" bar at the local Apple Store. The "Genius" ran a set of so-called diagnostics that basically said - there isn't anything wrong with your phone. Additionally, he did a thorough physical inspection (I'm sure they see a lot of physical damaged phones) and also concurred there was no physical damage.
So - we was 'delighted' to offer me $150 to replace the screen (that wasn't broken) or $250 to replace the phone (he said I was out of warranty).
basically - tough luck.
Since then - I have rebuilt/reloaded IOS on the phone (no luck - still happening) - and am now looking into the case (Otter Box Defender) being the issue (there are a few posts whereby something about the Otter Box cases - static build up? - could be causing this. Otter Box has yet to respond to me - Do they have 'geniuses' too?)
My gut tells me Apple had some early-version engineering issues that they haven't fessed up to yet - that causes this problem (mine was a fairly early version). It has probably since been long fixed (explaining why they aren't seeing widespread issues) - and is a combo - sw/hw issue (further narrowing the field of cases). I mentioned this to the "genius" at the 'genius bar' and he gave me a blank stare (genius!).

Jan 8, 2016 1:44 PM in response to Joseph Garciaby BobbyGro,@joseph Garcia - Could you please clarify your instructions? They don't seem to track with the SETTINGS options? Thx
-
Jan 8, 2016 4:39 PM in response to BobbyGroby Joseph Garcia,Sorry about that. If you go into Settings>Privacy> Location Services and look for any app that is set to "Always". My friend told me that by setting any App to Always will create a Geo-Fencing event and thus cause the iPhone to constantly be searching for my position. As I write this, I have not had any repeat issues and therefore believe this fixes my problem.
