An event is a type of folder that contains various items like original media and computer generated media, and projects. Each library must have at least one event.

Think of projects as your assembled movie. It's really a lot of instructions that govern how much of a given clip is going to be used in the movie, in what sequence multiple clips will be arranged, what color corrections and other effects may be applied, including titles and transitions.  As indicated earlier, projects are stored in an events folder.

This document takes  a more complete look at projects, events, and the libraries they are contained in. A good discussion of projects and events takes place in the section beginning on page 9.

There is no single correct way to organize since the editing requirements of different kinds of productions vary so greatly. Page 10 of the linked document gives some examples.

    Good luck.
