Calendar in Photos doesn't print months

I prepared my annual calendar in Photos. Twice I have sent off a calendar. The first was returned with the months missing - well they were printed in tiny letters that are almost invisible. I checked the project in photos and discovered that the months were no longer showing up on my computer. Wondering how I could have missed something so obvious I laid out the calendar again, from the beginning, checked the months were showing and sent it off again. Today I received an email saying that text was cut off and the order had been cancelled. So I checked my computer and again the months are not there on my computer copy. I suspect it has something to do with the generation of the file for sending to the printer.

I am using Photos 1.3 in El Capitan 11. 2, and the calendar template I used is Big Date

Does anyone else have this problem? Is it just this a template problem? Is there a workaround?

Up to you - personally I prefer checking things prior to ordering and having the proof that I did in case of problems - you have free choice and can do what ever you want - however I suggest that you will save time, money and grief by checking the preview before ordering - it i s even possible that you will catch an error you made in that review

but I shouldn't have to check the Apple photos generated text

That's true in a perfect world. However, we all know this is not a perfect world so it's prudent to follow Apple's recommendation to preview books, cards and calendars via the PDF file before ordering.

Apple is very good at providing refunds the first time but not a second time. So the decision is up to you. Like Larry I always check and save the PDF file to compare with the printed copy when it arrives. Sometimes there are printing problems that occur at Apple's end and are not in the PDF file. It's good practice to do so.

I checked the first calendar I sent off and it printed perfectly from a pdf. I have just created another calendar and generated it as a pdf using the inbuilt apple pdf creator, and also via a post script file using Adobe Acrobat. Both pdfs were perfect. I've been making calendars using iPhoto since 2009, and in earlier versions of iPhoto I used to be able to edit the colour of the months and days in Preview. However after 2012 I could no longer do that. I guess that the template was tightened up. So I'm wondering if it has something to do with the month object not being included in the distillation process as it is being prepared to be sent for printing. That would account for the version stored in Photos also being saved without the months. It's a bit hard to reproduce the problem without sending off a version to be printed.

It's not so much the money for the two calendars that I ordered late in December, annoying though that is. I just hope it is fixed before next year. I posted this problem to see if other people had the same problem and which calendar templates were affected. It might just be the Big Date calendar. I guess the next step will be lodging a report of this error. Thanks for taking an interest in the post.

I Have had this same problem since Nov 15 . exact same problem except that i was using " Colored Paper " theme. i was unable to get it to work no matter what i did. very frustrating because its a good app and i have used it for years. I eventually switched to a Big Date theme and got it to work once although i do not like that theme. i just wondered if you ever got a answer to the problem.

The problem with the calendar project is not that we don't preview the project, it's that after all the work to place photos and get everything the way that you want it, once you preview it , there is no way to change the font size of the apple template month. and it will not print. thats why they where frustrated with the preview. Has there been any solution to this problem posted anywhere?

thanks for your time and expertise .

Still not working. I'm using the Big Date template. After getting all the photos and text placed, I noticed that the month text is not appearing. However, you can see the month spelled out on each lower (date) page in greyed 6 pt. type.

Frustratingly, one can't activate it by clicking, highlighting and changing in Text Options. It's inert, sitting on each page nearly illegible.

Anybody found any fixes to this or am I not giving the relatives family calendars this year?
