    HI there RMMurray32,

It sounds like you have music and photos you want to get to your computer from the phone. You can transfer your purchases to your Mac with the following article. Please take note of the bolded underlined section about content that was imported to your library from other sources such as CDs:

Redownload or transfer your iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer

Transfer your purchases to your computer

Before you transfer your purchases, make sure that your computer is authorized with the same Apple ID you used to make the purchases. Learn how to authorize your computer using iTunes.

If you purchased content from the iTunes Store on your device using multiple Apple IDs, you'll need to authorize your computer for each one.

To transfer purchases from your device to a computer:

    1. Connect your device to the computer. Wait for its icon to appear in iTunes.
    2. Go to File > Devices.
If you're using iTunes for Windows and can't see the menu bar, learn how to turn on iTunes menus in Windows.
    3. Choose Transfer Purchases from [device name].

This feature works only for content bought from the iTunes Store. If your device is using iOS 9 or later, apps you download don’t transfer to iTunes. Any items that you imported from audio CDs or received from other sources won't copy from your device to the iTunes library. However, all podcasts from your device's Podcasts app and copies of all PDFs and books from your device's iBooks app will transfer to your computer. Learn how to transfer media to your iTunes library.

As for your photos, if they were all taken or downloaded on the phone itself, then you should be able to import them to Photos with this article:

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer

If you have photos on your phone that were synced from your previous computer you can either share them to yourself:

    • You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures taken by your device, or saved to it, from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device, email the photos from the device to yourself. Then download the photos from the emails to your computer.

Or if you have too many for that to be feasible then you can also use iCloud Photo Library to upload them to iCloud, and download them all to the computer. First enable iCloud Photo Library on the phone:

Turn on iCloud Photo Library. Go to Settings > iCloud > Photos, or Settings > Photos & Camera.

    From: iCloud Photo Library

Then enable it in Photos on your Mac to get them to show up on your computer:

Access your photos and videos everywhere with iCloud Photo Library
