An 'enhanced CD' is one which contains both the standard CD-format audio information, plus a CD-ROM section which contains video, photos or other types of data. A normal CD player can read only the CD audio section (and this must be the first thing on the disc or it won't read it).

In an ideal world a computer will display both the CD and CD-ROM sections as separate volumes and access them normally; but it's always been a flaky process and there have been complaints of one or other part not showing on various different kind of computers. It's been reported than some of these at least will play on a modern Mac. Of course the content of the CD-ROM section has to be Mac-compatible, not Windows files.
