I can't get the click button on my new magic mouse 2 to work when paired with my new MacBook air?

Tried all those support suggestions and didn't get any farther with the click button working...
Have you tried looking in the System Preferences ? Your settings under Track Pad might be conflicting with the mouse.
Couldn't tell if anything in the track pad settings was interfering with the bluetooth mouse... frustrating.
The arrow will scrole just fine, but the click button just doesn't work.
Could it have been something with all the software updates that I did when I got the the macbook air?
I did read a few months ago on another site that there were issues with these on Yosemite / El Capitan - can't remember the workaround 😐
Have you tried the General in System Preferences too ?
Yup... Still nothing working! Was hoping someone else had run into the same challenge and it was something simple I was missing.
Are you saying that no clicks are working at all or just the right click? There’s nothing that can interfere with the left click as far as I know so if that’s not working the problem may be a defective mouse. Have you tried unpairing the mouse and computer? Do you have access to another computer you could try it with?
I've up-paired and re-paird the mouse several times with no luck. No clicks are working at this point. The mouse will move the pointer, but that's it at this point. The click function stopped working after I did all the software updates to El Capitan...
There’s nothing about the El Cap upgrade that should have broken the mouse. Did you try, as I suggested, making a new account and testing the mouse there? Have you another computer to test the mouse with?
There are three possibilities:
1) something went awry with the upgrade and you need to redownload El Cap and install again
2) something is awry with your account
3) something is wrong with the mouse
If you can figure out which of the 3 it is that will help determine the fix
So, took back and exchanged the magic mouse for another and works perfect so far...
